sandy. now we have learned the details as folks in some town get a look at the destruction after the super storm hit. according to new york governor andrew cuomo, sandy cost the state more than $40 billion. billions more than the previous estimates. and in new jersey, fema reports it's already paid out more than a quarter of a billion dollars to residents. many of those folks are in some of the hardest hit towns like point pleasant where four feet of sand covered the streets like a snow drift. as workers remove that sand, folks are finally getting a look at all the destruction beneath it rick leventhal with the news life in point pleasant tonight. how different is it a month later? >> not much, shepard. much of the ocean front is still a wreck. including the southern half of the board walk and most of the buildings here like the white sands hotel behind us. a storm surge racked the ocean front bar and restaurant bringing waves and sand dunes into that space. also swamping the ground floor rooms with with a couple of feet of water. almost everything along the coast hire was hit ha

izod brand is doing. >> sandy had to shut down a lot of stores for you. the hurricane storm 35-40% of your business is done. it is a big part of our business. it did impact us in the first part of november. we were were able to still raise the year we were able to do. we were looking for a big 4th quarter. revenues will be up 7%. we were looking for earnings per share growth. so, we are expecting 4th quarter, a holiday season to continue very strong. how important is the cost of acquisition and the core basic strength of the business? i mean to me, it has to be a big up year given the strength of what you can do already. >> we have talkeded about the strength of the brand overall worldwide. we think we can add to that. we think the acquisition can be clear in the first year. we talked about two to three years from now. so, that you know, that is the point next year is a transition year, bringing the business in. i think we have talked about 35 cents a share, but i think the real opportunity there is greater than that. >> i have been emphasizing companies that take the bull by t

in dealing with the disaster in new jersey as a result of hurricane sandy. but you don't hear it now and the interesting thing is i didn't hear anyone of prominence quoted by name in criticizing christie that way. plenty of people including jindal, happy to criticize mitt romney by name. >> well, sure, after the election and remember when bobby jindal criticized mitt romney, it was after mitt romney had said something like really, really dumb. also, the other thing about chris christie and particularly jindal in that statement he put out today about christie, these are now two governors who have had to deal with natural disasters. not only because they're republicans, governors, but they're also two men who have had to deal with mother nature wreaking havoc on their populations. so jindal looks at christie as sort of a kindred spirit. >> he was attacking romney for what he got caught saying. but let's listen to jindal talking about this whole issue of should chris christie be blamed for being helpful in some way to president obama's re-election. >> i've got in interest in looking at
